Wrap3 – Remote Management System

Wrap3-2

Background

Wrap3 produces 360-degree motion graphics, delivered through a unique panoramic projection system. Their digital projection techniques and video mapping software enable Wrap3 to generate fluid, interactive “Virtual Second Skin” for practically any object on any scale. They work with high profile clients such as Chanel, London Fashion Week, James Bond Productions, Arcadia Group.

The agency needed a way to improve scalability of the business and to create a foundation to support more permanent installations internationally. Support for existing installations was being carried out in an ad-hoc manner and there was no structured monitoring of the client sites.

The Challenge / Opportunity

To improve scalability and profitability of a highly creative business whilst maintaining high client services levels.

Our Thinking and Approach

Cohezia’s consultants carried out analysis to define the specific functions that were needed. A detailed technical analysis was then carried out to define a suitable solution architecture. There were significant technical challenges that needed to be overcome such as connectivity through corporate firewalls, media content updates, bandwidth constraints, compression technologies, video transmission, remote projector control, display alignment, power, SMS notifications etc.

We designed, developed and installed a complete, custom, web based, Remote Management System (RMS). The new system monitors the installation site using video cameras and system software. It allows Wrap3 designers to control multiple projectors remotely, update media content and to receive alerts via SMS if there are any failures on any of the equipment at the installation site.

Results

The RMS has successfully been used by Wrap3 to manage and monitor a number of high profile international installations. Benefits achieved include:

  • Improved project profitability
  • Freed up time for key resources allowing them to focus on high value creative work and business development
  • Opened up new markets allowing them to target commissions for permanent and fully managed installations
  • Allows them to scale and grow the business internationally as more installations can be managed from a central office
  • Improved customer service levels as problems can be identified and fixed much faster
